You aced cold-weather dressing, now it’s time for spring. Blue, in all its hues, is a huge source of inspiration for designers this season: ocean blue is the key colour, as predicted by trend specialists WGSN. Fortunately, it’s a shade that suits all skin tones and ages.
Italian fashion designer Brunello Cucinelli (available at Brown Thomas) is known for his simple, elegant clothing. Cucinelli has been making suits since 1978, refining his technique over the decades.
TWO-PIECE SUIT
At a recent event at Chateau Marmont in LA, The Bear actor Jeremy Allen White showed up wearing a Cucinelli ultramarine blue linen and sik mix two-piece suit. Take a leaf out of the actor’s style book and opt for a relaxed, tailored (and easy to wear) blue suit that can be worn together or separately. Don’t accessorise with traditional “office” accessories – a leather belt and matching shoes. Wear the jacket with jeans and a knit. Wear the trousers with a textured cardigan and cotton T-shirt.

BLUE DENIM
Blue denim is another bonafide trend this spring. If investing in new jeans, opt for straight-leg versions in a non-stretch fabric. Wear with a pair of suede sneakers in a bright colour. A slightly relaxed-fit denim jacket is another essential item for SS24. Arket has a dark blue workwear-inspired option, €199; H&M’s version is a cool mid blue, €54.95, and Polo Ralph Lauren’s recycled denim trucker jacket, €339, is a quintessential American classic.
