Haute Hippie: There’s something about the thought of summer that brings out the hippie in all of us. Veteran designer Ralph Lauren, now 83, made a long-awaited return to New York Fashion Week for SS24. His eclectic and decidedly romantic collection had lots of handcrafted details: denim was flocked (for a velvety look) and embroidered, while blouses and shirts were hand-beaded and artfully dyed. Models accessorised with swathes of colourful beaded necklaces and kept make-up minimal, with undone, centre-parted hair. Think festival fashion, but elevated.
