Weir & Sons celebrated its ongoing collaboration with Patek Philippe with an exciting exhibition and a dinner at Glovers Alley…
Watch enthusiasts will know all about the family-owned Genevan luxury watch manufacturers, Patek Philippe. The company, which was founded in 1839, has always been proud of its savoir faire and attention to detail. And in a world where manual skills are increasingly redundant, it’s good to know a Patek Philippe watch has been finished by hand, from its case and dial to its movement components, with skills passed down through generations.
Last week, Weir & Sons, Grafton Street, Dublin 2 celebrated its ongoing collaboration with Patek Philippe with an exciting exhibition. Part of the recent exhibition included the new collection which features the 5164G-001 Aquanaut and the 5980/60G-001 Nautilus Chronograph.
“They are simply one of the best watchmakers in the world,” believes Chris Andrews, Managing Director at Weir & Sons. Indeed in 2019, a special timepiece was created especially to mark the 150th anniversary of Weir & Sons – the Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 5905P, notable for its vibrant green colour.
To celebrate the exhibition, guests were invited to an exclusive dinner at Glovers Alley Restaurant by Andy McFadden where they enjoyed a champagne reception and a four-course surprise dinner. Guests included Chris Andrews, Adrian Lurshay, Managing Director of Patek Philippe and Gavin and Mary Hydes.
