From recipe ideas to travel inspiration, Kitty Coles shares some of the best food Instagram accounts she likes to follow …
This month, I’m going through a strange Instagram phase and have something to admit. I’ve recently muted (not unfollowed!) a lot of friends who are food content creators on Instagram to free up my feed from food and recipes. This isn’t to say I don’t like them or their content; it’s just to give myself some space for my own ideas. Is this okay? Or am I a bad person? I’ll come back to them soon, but it feels good to switch off from what everyone else is cooking for a bit. That said, I thought I’d share a few people and places I think are worth a follow:
@thisisrosiehealey: A chef at Gloriosa in Glasgow (also worth following). I’m desperate to visit, and her food always looks effortlessly delicious.
@Esthermclark: A BBC Good Food writer who cooks things you really want to eat.
@katjatausig: A development chef at Ottolenghi Test Kitchen, beekeeper, amazing cook, and generally great person.
@clarecole: Follow for travel inspiration around London, Italy and France, as well as beautiful food content.
@tuba.club: A restaurant and hotel in Marseille that sits right on the sea. Imagine chairs and tables scattered over rocks, with yellow striped deckchairs against the blue water. One for summer trip dreaming.
@darciebakes: Owner of @lannanbakery. This is someone I don’t get tired of following. I’ll never be able to bake like her, so I love to just be in awe of what she’s able to create.
@podersala: Lives in a stunning house outside of Florence and cooks perfect, delicious food. One of those accounts that makes me want to cook.
@clare.deboer: A chef at King, Stissing House, and Jupiter in New York. Clare is English but lives in the US and cooks delicious things from her home. Her Substack is worth a follow too.
@stfranciskinsale: I first went to this tiny restaurant in Kinsale years ago and instantly fell in love with it. I just love to follow along and think about when I can visit next. Go and eat there.
@cissydifford: An ex-pastry chef of @scealbakery making amazing pastries and generally delicious food.
